Everest Base Camp Trekking is one of the most popular trekking & hiking destinations in the world today located in Sagarmatha National Park surrounded by heavens of mountains. It gives an incredible experience and astonishing scenery of the highest mountain of the Himalaya. Since Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay conquered the Mt. Everest in 1953, many have visited `The Land of the Sherpa' to wonder at this achievement and it has become one of the man’s most daring challenges to be able to stand on top of the world. Many tourists come at this camp to experience spectacular Mt. Everest and this camp gives the combination of adventure, fascinating and unique culture of local people.
Everest Base Camp trekking starts by flying over 35 minutes from Kathmandu airport to a tiny airstrip at Lukla (2,800 m) through Sagarmatha National park where you will get opportunity to experience pleasing mountain views. Flying from Kathmandu to Lukla offers you a great mountain views including of Mt. Everest. As the Everest Base Camp Trekking is an adventurous and but needs good physical fitness as well as good acclimatization. This is an entry point to Everest Base Camp and other Everest region trekking. As our itinerary has been fully prepared considering the fact of acclimatization, you would trek gradually to Everest Base Camp. Your trek begins from the capital of Sherpa, Namchebazar, where you will spend a day. It will be another great experience to know the village, its culture, monasteries, wild life museum and some other great mountaineers. The photographic opportunities are limitless inspiring views like Khumbu Glacier, Everest and Nuptse, Alpine Scrub and Junipers of the Sherpa region, and the Pine forests and Rhododendron flowers of the valleys. Those pictures taken will make you relive while on the way home. You will make your way through Alpine forest, glacial rivers, waterfalls, stony trails, mountains and monasteries to a Kala Patthar from where 360 degree good view of mountains including Mt. Everest . Then you will head back for Lukla to Kathmandu after achieving your target to Everest base camp (5400 M).
Day 1: Kathmandu Arrival
You will be warmly greeted by Well Nepal at your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu and escorted to hotel. Evening free, overnight at hotel
Day 2: Fly Kathmandu to Lukla & Trek to Phakding
After breakfast then drive to Tribhuvan airport to fly for Lukla. It is about 40 min. flight above great green and white mountains. After you reach at Lukla airport our other team member will meet you there and help in your packing and other arrangement and then you will head through beautiful village of Lukla till you reach at Phakding. Overnight at Lodge
Day 3 Trek Phakding to Namchebazar
Walking through a beautiful Pine forest, along the Dudh Koshi River, you will see wonderful prospect of the Mt. Thamserku (6618 m), you will arrive at the check post and entrance to Sagarmatha National Park. Then we pass through the last village of Jorsale and following the trail through the forests and bridges until we reach the confluence of the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. After a final steep climb of about two hours you get first sight of Mt. Everest peering over the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. From there we still need to hike about 1.5 hours to reach Namche Bazaar, a gateway to Mt. Everest and main trading centre of this region. Overnight at Lodge
Day 4 Acclimatization
This day is acclimatization day especially programmed taking care of your health. This day is a rest day and you can explore Sagarmatha National Park or Namchebazar and Khumjung Valley. It offers you internet, cafes, shops, restaurant, bakery and other where you can hang out and feel better for next day hike.Overnight at Lodge
Day 5 Trek to Tengboche (3,870m)
After breakfast in Namche, we start our trek towards Tengboche enjoying superb view of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and close up view of Thamserku. Enjoying wild lives like pheasant, musk deer, or a herd of Himalayan Thar, through Alpine forests, Dudh Koshi River, we reach Phunki Thenga where we’ll have relaxed lunch then steep up through the Pine forests while before we reach Tengboche. Tengboche is a great place for close up views of Ama-Dablam, Nuptse, and Everest and a biggest Buddhist Monastery in Khumbu region which we will visit too. Overnight at Lodge
Day 6 Tengboche to Dingboche (4360 M)
After breakfast we gear up for our day hike to Dingboche. We pass through several Chortens and Mani walls and small villages. The place where we stop for lunch not only serves delicious food but also allows a fantastic close-up view of Mt Ama Dablam. From here onwards, the walk is fairly moderate as we enter the Imja Valley to Lobuche River. We descend into the river and begin the steep climb of the day up to Dingboche. On arrival at Dingboche, we will see beautiful array of fields enclosed by stone walls to protect barley, buckwheat and potatoes from the cold winds and grazing animals. Overnight at Lodge
Day 7 Dingboche to Duglha(4360 M)
We start the day with a climb to through the Khumbu Khola valley to Phulung Karpo Above which is Chola Lake. As we move on, the majestic view of Mt. Pumori (7138 m/ 23418 ft) comes into view. After crossing a small wooden bridge, we ascend to Duglha. We can see the tip of Mt Nuptse, Mt Cholatse, Mt Thamserku and several other magnificent peaks. Spending a night in Duglha is ideal for acclimatization purposes. Overnight at Lodge
Day 8 Duglha to Lobuche(4940 M)
We climb up the steep moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. At the top of the ridge of Chupki Lhara, we will find an array of stones with prayer flags used as memorials to Scott Fischer (American mountaineer) and 10 times Everest submitter Babu Chiri Sherpa (a Nepali mountain guide) who perished on a mission to climb Everest. As the trail drops to the Khumbu Glacier moraine, we find ourselves facing several great peaks. We are now in the surrounding of Everest but the great mountain still remains exclusive. Day 09 Lobuche to Gorakshep (5180m)
We continue our journey through Khumbu Glacier to Thangma Riju from where 360 degree views of mountains can be observed. Climbing steeply up to the top through the torrent of Changri Glacier, we catch our first glimpse of Kala Patthar, a grey-green knoll beneath the Mt. Pumori and you will be at Gorakshep finding snow-capped mountains bright all around us including Mt. Everest. Overnight at Lodge
Day 10: Gorakshep to Everest Base Camp (5400m) and return Gorakshep (5180m)
After breakfast we take the trail to Everest Base Camp through the once vast Gorakshep Lake. Finally you are at your destination. Mountaineer's tents stand out in bright colors against the monotony of gray surroundings. Nuptse, Khumbuste and Pumori are the mountains we can view from the base camp. Overnight at Lodge
Day 11: Back to Kala Pattar (5545m) - Gorakshep - Pheriche (4210m). Overnight service
This day we walk all the way back to Pheriche. On the way one must see the sunrise from Kala Patthar. The sunrays at cap of mountains are just tear-bursting. After a long hike of 7 hour we rest at Pheriche. Overnight at Lodge
Day 12 Pheriche to Khumjung (3900m)
We head downward for 6 hour to Khumjung and Overnight at Lodge
Day 13 Khumjung to Jorsale (2740m)
From Khumjung we depart for Jorsale and Overnight at Lodge
Day 14 Jorsale to Lukla (2800m)
After enjoying our breakfast now we head back from Jorsale to lukla from where we started our real hike.The trail descends steeply downward so we need to walk slowly and under control as our shaky legs continuously battle the rocky terrain. Way down through Sherpa villages noticing impressive faith in Buddhism and culture of prayer stones and prayers flag, we feel completely different views. Upon arrival in Lukla, we stretch those aches and sore body parts and recall the experiences of the last couple of weeks. We experience the culmination of a fantastic trek on a happy note with everyone back safe and sound with smile on faces. Overnight in Lukla.
Day 15 Lukla to Kathmandu (1337m)
This day you fly back to Kathmandu and do some shopping for gifts, memory, collections and some traditional items and they all rests at a single venue, Thamel. There will be a small party upon the successful campaign. Overnight at Hotel
Day 16: Kathmandu Sightseeing Overnight at hotel
Full Day City Tours with Russian Speaking Tour Guide, Evening Cultural Dinner with Nepali Dance
Day 18: Departure
