Langtang Region Trekking
Langtang Region Treks is one of the trekking regions in Nepal which sits 130 KM north of Kathmandu Valley. Langtang covers 1,710 sq. km. forming the upper catchments areas of two of Nepal's largest river systems i.e. Trishuli and Koshi. This Himalayan region is extended nearby to the border of China, Tibet. Langtang Region embraces Langtang lirung (7245 M), Jugal Himal, Dorge Lakpa, Ganesh Himal, Chimse dada, Gangala pass and many other small peaks with great floura and fauna. Langtang region Trekking has a National park i.e. First National Park of Himalayan region, named as Langtang National park and it is home to several rare bird, animals and wild vegetation.
There is no any airport in this area but you can easily go to Dhunche, gateway to this region, by local bus or jeep. Only few tourists come to visit Langtang area. So, the adventure to be gained here is proximately high. Compared to other trekking this one is nearby from capital of Nepal and can be conquered in short duration. This region not only provides the opportunity for scenic mountains but also to explore the culture and lifestyle of peoples living in this area. It gives you an amazing experience and access to local villages of Tamang and Sherpa with their unique languages, dresses, culture and skills of craftsmanship. It is idle trek in which you can study flora and fauna along journey. Similarly, its National park gives wide diversity in climate, vegetations and wildlife. It is home for Himalayan Thar, Himalayan black bear, Rhesus Monkeys and rare red Pandas. You will also hear the stories of yeti been spotted in this region. This region is also famous for several Glacier lakes–Gosainkunda, Parvatikunda, Bhairavkunda, Dudhkunda and many small peaks among which some are pilgrimage site of both Hindus and Buddhist. Langtang River passes through Langtang valley and rages its torrent to Bhotekoshi or Trishuli Ganga. The climate of this region is cold. Winters are extremely cold and summers are cool. There are many lodges and tea houses on its trails.
Langtang Region is famous for Langtang Valley Trek, Gosainkunda Trek, Helambu Trek, Gosainkunda-Helambu trek and other treks. The trek to be performed is moderate and it can be visited in any months of a year.
20 Miles north from capital of Nepal, Kathmandu, lies Langtang region which is embraced with great Himalayan range and with great natural appeal. It is regarded as the treasure house of Alpine plants and possesses lots of diversity in landscape to people and their culture.
