Tibet also known as ‘The Roof of The World’ which is simply the plateau located at the highest elevation of the world [4,900 meters (16,000 ft)] possessing more than 50 peaks above 7,000m (22,960ft) with eleven Himalayan mountains over 8000m. This naturally and socio-culturally beautiful land is located at the main part of Qinghai-Tibet plateau, south-West frontier of China which borders Sichuan, Yuannan, Qinghai and Xinjiang to the south with India, Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan and Burma and Kashmir on the west. Tibet is considered as the heart of Buddhist Philosophy and culture which holds very ancient Tibetan culture and traditions with typical Tibetan lifestyle. The Land size of Tibet is 2.5 million Sq. Km. i.e. 965,000 Sq. Miles which is also the traditional homeland of Tibetan people and other ethnic groups like Monpas, Qiang and Lhobas also Han and Hui people.
Tibet mainly can be separated into three major parts i.e. East, North and South. There is Virgin forest in east which covers 1/4th of total Tibet where as to the north there is open grassland covering half of it and similarly remaining land lies to the south which erects major Tibetan cities like Lhasa, Shigatse, Gyantse and Tsetang possessing great cultural values. Anyone who visits this holy land can experience Spiritual traditions, temples and monasteries, lakes and rivers, snow clad peaks, etc. Tibet really is a land of mystery. Places full of adventure with spiritual importance, amazing landscapes, artistic and cultural monasteries and centuries-old caravan trails makes Tibet an amazing travel destination. It was long closed to the outside world, however, in 1980; Tibet's doors were inched open, giving the world its first glimpse of the country's breathtakingly beautiful landscape. In present days, country's spectacular Buddhist temples, ancient cities, enduring traditions and Spectacular Mountain scenery attracts the tourist most.
